Happy Birthday Jack!!

I know I am a total nerd but for now I don't have kids to talk about so I have to talk about my other baby Jack. He had a birthday on Sunday. He is all grown up. He turned 2. I remember when we could hold him like a baby. This is our family photo, ha ha. THis was a long time ago. He looked like a little bear. He was so clumsy.
He was soooo little!!

Now he is 102 pounds. The only thing I can hold is his head. He thinks he is a lap dog though.

He loves to sun bathe in the grass. Don't worry it is all dead. That Las Vegas for ya. ha ha

A Fun Day

This is Jack reaching for the ball. He wouldn't go any further.

Here is Sherman getting ready to go for a swim to get the ball.

He loved the sand.

This past weekend Greg went to California for something so I decided to go to St George. My mom had to go to Lake Powell to go get our waverunners from the repair shop so I decided to accompany her. So, me, Chas, my mom, and the 2 dogs headed to Powell. It ended up being a really fun day. We didn't stay long but its all good. We went to Lake Powell beach which is before Wahweap by Lone Rock. We had lunch and let the dogs play in the water. We have always wanted to take them to Powell to see how they like it. Jack was kind of a whimp but Sherman swam out and got the balls that Jack wouldn't go get They had a blast!! The water was freezing and the air was not hot but not cold. We didn't go swimming obviously. It was nice because the water was glass and it was very quiet which isn't usually the case. I will always love Lake Powell even for just a couple of hours.

Pheonix

We went to PHeonix for 2 days to our friend Jimi's wedding. He was married in the Mesa Temple. It was very nice. The temple is way different than any other temple I have seen. It blends in well to its surrounding though. We also got to see some other USU friends which was great. We miss all of them so much.

My pictures won't load anymore so I will post later with more. We also got to hang out with JOhn and Hailey for a day and we did some fun things. I will post more abou that later when the pics will work.

How it all Began

Where did you meet your husband?

We first met up at Utah State at a FHE activity at first dam (a grassy place with picnic tables and volleyball by the river) in the mouth of Logan Canyon. We also lived in the same apartment complex. Later he ended up dating my roommate!!

What was the first thing you said to you husband?

Hmmmm. I think I introduced myself and then Heather Back and I invited him and another guy to come to our apartment any time they want and to bring their roommates. ha ha.

Where was your first date?

Well, we pretty much just hung out alot and didn't go to many offical "dates". I think the first real date was with a big group of my friends. We went to dinner at a park and then went roller skating. Greg still tries to tell me he was a good skater. ha ha

Where was your first kiss?
We were not dating yet we were just really good "friends". We were hanging out at one of our married friends houses playing games. When we left they told eachother that we were gonna kiss that night. We each went to our separate apartments and started talking on instant messenger (lame I know). Greg begged me to come over so I did. ha ha (his version may be different). We started watching a movie and then Greg made his move. From then on I guess we were dating.

Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement?

We were friends for a long time. He dated my roommate and I some how became the middle man for their relationship. ha ha. After they broke up we became really good friends. So we met in September, officailly started dating in April got engaged in Nov then married in May. We had a long engagement of 6 months.

Where did you get engaged?

We got engaged in California on Santa Monica beach the day after Thanksgiving. Greg came and picked me up from my uncles house and took me to the cliff above the beach. I had no idea what was going on. Then we were walking and looking out at he ocean and he said " i have something for you" he pulled out the ring box and there was a giant purple grandma ring. ha ha Then he pulled out the real thing and the rest is history.

Where did you get married?

Bountiful, Utah Temple May 6, 2004

How did the reception go?
No reception just a dinner with close family and friends. It was at the Joseph SMith Memorial Building. I loved it!! We were done by 5:00pm and off to Park City. I would recommend it to anyone. I heard the food was good too. ha ha

How was the honeymoon?

Awesome!! We went to Park City for 2 days then headed back up to Logan for school. Then about a month later we went on a cruise to the caribbean. We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. On the way back we stopped in Chicago and went to a Cubs game. We had a wonderful time!!

You've been Tagged!!!

California

This past week we went down to Cali for Greg's neice's wedding. We stayed at his parents house and we did a whole lot of fun things. Jack made the trip with us to. He loves to go see all the kids. We loved the weather too. We just got back today and I am soooo tired!!! Below are some of the fun things we did.

Gregs other neice works at Warner BRos and does tours. We got to go on a tour for free!! It was awesome. Here is me in front of the outside part of the ER set. this is my favorite show so I was excited!!

On the tour we got to go to the WB museum. THe whole top floor is dedicated to Harry Potter!!! It was soooo cool!! We even got to see the Horwars Express, ha ha. This was taken in front of a green screen. They also had the car that Ron and Harry drove after it had been through the Womping Willow. ( I am totally a nerd). They also have a sorting hat so Greg and I got sorted. I got Hufflepuff and he got Griffendor. I think it was rigged. ha ha

I got to see Wicked!!! It was sooo good. I have been wanting to see it forever. I went with Greg's neice Jessica (the one who does the tours). A lady in my in laws ward works for the owner of the Theatre so we got 6th row for $100. It was a good time.

And Last, the wedding. Kendra got married in the San Diego Temple on Friday and the reception was Saturady in Burbank. I absolutely love that temple!!! It is so pretty. It was unbelieveable. We took so many pictures of it. The inside was great too. I wish we could have done a session. She looked so happy. It was a great day. THe reception was very nice too. We had a great week and I am sad its over.

We do have Mountains!!

Mountains!!! Hooray!! THis is Mt. Charleston. It is about 40 minutes from my house. I have been wanting to go up here forever but just hasn't. So the other day me, Jack and my friend from nursing school went up there for a hike. It was wonderful!! When I got out of the car the smell was heavenly. I thought I was in Utah. The temp was about 20 degrees cooler that Vegas. We went on a pretty good hike too. It felt good to get out of the city. I will definitely do it again. Jack loved it too.

Tim and Fath

Last night I went to the Tim Mcgraw and Faith HIll concert at the MGM Grand. It was sooooo good!! I went last year too. I went with a girl that I met at the dog park. Our husbands hung out while we went to the concert. we had really good seats. Tim is very attractive and Faith is an amazing singer. My favorite is when they sing together. Tim also sung his song "If Your Reading THis" that he sung at the country music awards. Such a good song. It was about 4 housrs long all together. So worth the money!!

Lake Powell

Chas and I pushing the boat because it was only 3 feet deep back in a little canyon. We love to explore.

Greg pondering life on top of a cliff. What beautiful scenery in Face Canyon where we alway camp.

We went on our annual trip to Lake Powell last week. It was a blast of course!! Here is my mom and brother and me taking a bath in the lake. Ha ha I love that place. We did al the regular things you do at lake powell. My brother brought his projecter so we projected it onto the cliff and played guitar hero and watched movies. It was sooo cool!! Also, one night the wind picked up and one of the anchors gave way and we almost floated away. It was pretty funny. (you have to have something like that happen or the trip isn't complete.) 6 men outside holding a rope with all theri might at midnight is pretty funny. Anyway, it was a good time.
Another thing, I fi niched Harry Potter!!!! It was soo good. I won't say anything about it because I am sure some people haven't finishd yet.

I haven't read the book in a while so I didn't remember what was cut out. We are big fans so its was a fun night. We are really looking foreward to this weekend for the book to come out. I am trying to reread the 6th book to remember everything. I am soo excited!!

Girls Camp

Well, I just got back from girls camp with my ward. I was the camp director!! It was a great 3 days. We went up to a ranch called the Rockin R Ranch in Antomony Utah. It was a beautiful place and full of un things to do. We didn't have to cook or camp. We stayed in a lodge. We rode horses, went river tubing, line dancing, hay rides, rodeos, hiking and much much more. I had so much fun being with those young women. THey are a great group with strong testimonies. I felt like I was back in high school. My job wasn't really that hard either because I didn't have to plan food or hardly any activities. The theme was "Find your beauty within". We did makeovers one night wich was a blast!! We also played alot of "Nerts". Anyway, I had a wonderful experience and got to know some great girls and leaders. Hopefuly they will call me to be a part of Young Womens.

So, I have a new addiction. My brother got this new game and told me all about it and I kept saying how I wanted to play it. So, last saturday I came home from work and Greg had bought it for me!!! What a good husband. Anyway, this game is sooo fun and addicting. It is on xbox360 and it is the same idea as the dancing game where you step on the arrows. You have a plastic guitar as your controller and you play real songs. There are 5 buttons where the chords would be played. YOu play as if you are playing in a concert. What a great invention, even though it is consuming my life. ha ha I know I am a nerd because I like video games but oh well. GReg makes fun of me the whole time.

My Baby

I just wanted to put this cute picture up. Since I don't have a baby yet, Jack has to be my baby for now. He is so spoiled and we are such nerds but oh well. We love him.

My brother graduated!!! I seriously can't beieve it. It makes me feel old. It was really fun to see him graduate. As I was watching the ceremony I felt like I had just been in his position. I can't believe its been 6 years. So much has happened since then but it feels like yesterday. I am so proud of my little (but way taller) brother. Congrats!! It was a fun trip to ST GEorge too. Me and Jack stayed overnight (greg had to work) and went swimming in my parents new pool with my dad and brother. We also got to go to Cafe rio!! I love that place. THey are building one in vegas too. hooray!!!!! It is right down the street from me. It may turn out to be a bad thing though because I will always eat it. P.S. That is a really bad picture of me!!
