The highlight of our trip for me was hiking along the Napali coast. this is the part of the island that you can't drive around. The cliffs are steep and jagged. The views are amazing!!! You have to drive forever to get there but it is pretty. You hike right along the edge of the cliff and you can see the ocean below you. Because it had been raining the trail was very muddy and slippery which made it even more fun.. THe pic above shows the mud. At first we were careful and by the end we didn't care. We had mud caked up to our knees by the end. It was pretty fun.
The is the view from the first part of the hike of the coast where you start. Its amazing too.
The hike is actually like 12 miles if you want to do the whole thing but most people hike to a beach which is what we did and its only 2 miles one way. Right before the beach we came to this river that my mom explained as a "trickle of water" into the ocean. ha ah. It was up to my thighs. So much for our shoes. It was a strong current too. THank goodnes for my walking stick.
THis is our destination, the beach. It was nice but they warn you to stay away from the water because of the currents. It was beautiful.
