California

This past week we went down to Cali for Greg's neice's wedding. We stayed at his parents house and we did a whole lot of fun things. Jack made the trip with us to. He loves to go see all the kids. We loved the weather too. We just got back today and I am soooo tired!!! Below are some of the fun things we did.

Gregs other neice works at Warner BRos and does tours. We got to go on a tour for free!! It was awesome. Here is me in front of the outside part of the ER set. this is my favorite show so I was excited!!

On the tour we got to go to the WB museum. THe whole top floor is dedicated to Harry Potter!!! It was soooo cool!! We even got to see the Horwars Express, ha ha. This was taken in front of a green screen. They also had the car that Ron and Harry drove after it had been through the Womping Willow. ( I am totally a nerd). They also have a sorting hat so Greg and I got sorted. I got Hufflepuff and he got Griffendor. I think it was rigged. ha ha

I got to see Wicked!!! It was sooo good. I have been wanting to see it forever. I went with Greg's neice Jessica (the one who does the tours). A lady in my in laws ward works for the owner of the Theatre so we got 6th row for $100. It was a good time.

And Last, the wedding. Kendra got married in the San Diego Temple on Friday and the reception was Saturady in Burbank. I absolutely love that temple!!! It is so pretty. It was unbelieveable. We took so many pictures of it. The inside was great too. I wish we could have done a session. She looked so happy. It was a great day. THe reception was very nice too. We had a great week and I am sad its over.

We do have Mountains!!

Mountains!!! Hooray!! THis is Mt. Charleston. It is about 40 minutes from my house. I have been wanting to go up here forever but just hasn't. So the other day me, Jack and my friend from nursing school went up there for a hike. It was wonderful!! When I got out of the car the smell was heavenly. I thought I was in Utah. The temp was about 20 degrees cooler that Vegas. We went on a pretty good hike too. It felt good to get out of the city. I will definitely do it again. Jack loved it too.

Tim and Fath

Last night I went to the Tim Mcgraw and Faith HIll concert at the MGM Grand. It was sooooo good!! I went last year too. I went with a girl that I met at the dog park. Our husbands hung out while we went to the concert. we had really good seats. Tim is very attractive and Faith is an amazing singer. My favorite is when they sing together. Tim also sung his song "If Your Reading THis" that he sung at the country music awards. Such a good song. It was about 4 housrs long all together. So worth the money!!

Lake Powell

Chas and I pushing the boat because it was only 3 feet deep back in a little canyon. We love to explore.

Greg pondering life on top of a cliff. What beautiful scenery in Face Canyon where we alway camp.

We went on our annual trip to Lake Powell last week. It was a blast of course!! Here is my mom and brother and me taking a bath in the lake. Ha ha I love that place. We did al the regular things you do at lake powell. My brother brought his projecter so we projected it onto the cliff and played guitar hero and watched movies. It was sooo cool!! Also, one night the wind picked up and one of the anchors gave way and we almost floated away. It was pretty funny. (you have to have something like that happen or the trip isn't complete.) 6 men outside holding a rope with all theri might at midnight is pretty funny. Anyway, it was a good time.
Another thing, I fi niched Harry Potter!!!! It was soo good. I won't say anything about it because I am sure some people haven't finishd yet.

Harry Potter

Greg and I went to see Harry Potter last Tuesday night at 11:59pm. It was showing on every screen in the theatre and they were all full. I thought it was way good. I haven't read the book in a while so I didn't remember what was cut out. We are big fans so its was a fun night. We are really looking foreward to this weekend for the book to come out. I am trying to reread the 6th book to remember everything. I am soo excited!!

Girls Camp

Well, I just got back from girls camp with my ward. I was the camp director!! It was a great 3 days. We went up to a ranch called the Rockin R Ranch in Antomony Utah. It was a beautiful place and full of un things to do. We didn't have to cook or camp. We stayed in a lodge. We rode horses, went river tubing, line dancing, hay rides, rodeos, hiking and much much more. I had so much fun being with those young women. THey are a great group with strong testimonies. I felt like I was back in high school. My job wasn't really that hard either because I didn't have to plan food or hardly any activities. The theme was "Find your beauty within". We did makeovers one night wich was a blast!! We also played alot of "Nerts". Anyway, I had a wonderful experience and got to know some great girls and leaders. Hopefuly they will call me to be a part of Young Womens.

So, I have a new addiction. My brother got this new game and told me all about it and I kept saying how I wanted to play it. So, last saturday I came home from work and Greg had bought it for me!!! What a good husband. Anyway, this game is sooo fun and addicting. It is on xbox360 and it is the same idea as the dancing game where you step on the arrows. You have a plastic guitar as your controller and you play real songs. There are 5 buttons where the chords would be played. YOu play as if you are playing in a concert. What a great invention, even though it is consuming my life. ha ha I know I am a nerd because I like video games but oh well. GReg makes fun of me the whole time.

My Baby

I just wanted to put this cute picture up. Since I don't have a baby yet, Jack has to be my baby for now. He is so spoiled and we are such nerds but oh well. We love him.

My brother graduated!!! I seriously can't beieve it. It makes me feel old. It was really fun to see him graduate. As I was watching the ceremony I felt like I had just been in his position. I can't believe its been 6 years. So much has happened since then but it feels like yesterday. I am so proud of my little (but way taller) brother. Congrats!! It was a fun trip to ST GEorge too. Me and Jack stayed overnight (greg had to work) and went swimming in my parents new pool with my dad and brother. We also got to go to Cafe rio!! I love that place. THey are building one in vegas too. hooray!!!!! It is right down the street from me. It may turn out to be a bad thing though because I will always eat it. P.S. That is a really bad picture of me!!

Its been a While

I know I haven't written forever!! I just don't have anything to write about. I swear notning exciting ever happens to me. I am the camp director and am trying to get ready for camp on June 18. We are going to a ranch in Utah. Its so easy!! They do all the food and we get to sleep in a lodge. This is nothing like my girls camps. It will be way fun though. I am excited.
The other day I decided to take Jack to Lake Meade to see if he likes the water and to just get out in the beautiful hot sun. Its only about 20 minutes away. I went by myself but it was fun. We went to a beach and Jack was having a blast running to get the ball in the water. It felt good too. THen I look over at him and he is licking his paw and look closer and the water is red with blood. He had sliced his paw on the very bottom on the pad on a rock or something. He was bleeding everywhere but he could walk fine. So that ended our little adventure. He is fine but he just has an open wound and I covered it today. There was blood trails all over my house.
Anyway, nothing else really exciting is going on. My little brother is graduating on Thursday!! I can't believe it. I am still just working and hanging around. I want to repain my bathroom and guest room so I am waiting for my mom to come help me.
We love visitors so if anyone is coming here anytime soon let me know.

Cruise

Well, we just got back from our cruise!! I made a slide show of it below. We had a great time. Went to St Thomas, ST Maartin, Caracao, and Aruba. My favorite island was St Thomas. It part of the US Virgin Islands. They are sooo beautiful!! We did some snorkeling on St John which is 15 minute boat ride from st Thomas. On Aruba we did a Jeep tour of the island. It is such a weird place. The dutch own it but the people are all caribean people. It is flat and dry and there are cactus's all over. Its way funny!!
On Caracao, we rode in dune buggy's, it was awesome. I didn't really like that island that much. On St Maarten there is a french side and a dutch side. There is nude beach on the french side, ha ha. We did a zip line course in the jungle there.
Overall, it was a way good week. It was fun to spend time with Greg and my family. OH ya, we played alot of bingo and won 400 dollars!! That was pretty cool.

American Idol

Okay, so I am a big nerd and am really into American Idol. I just finished watching the girls. There are some pretty good ones but there are like 4 that need to go. These girls keep choosing songs by Whitney, Celine, etc. You just can't sing their songs. Maybe they will get the hint eventually. I really like Lakesha (?), Gina, Melinda, Jhordan, and the last curly haired girl. The others don't impress me. Of the boys I like Blake and Chris Richardson the best (I think he is so cute). ANyway, I know am a nerd but oh well. I gotta go get ready to watch Lost, Probably another disappointing episode. I keep watching it though.

Friday, February 23, 2007

I haven't updated forever because nothing exciting ever happens to me to write about. I am still working at a brand new hospital. It is sooo nice and I really like it and the people I work with. I sometimes feel like I have no clue what I am doing but oh well. I love talking to patients and meeting so many different people.
I work about 3 days a week and the other days I pretty much just hang out. I take Jack to the dog park all the time. THere is kind of a little groupy that goes at the same time every day, its pretty fun. I am also trying to take down some wallpaper in our house that I absolutely hate and then I am going to do some painting. My mom did a home show house in the st george parade of homes and there was a room in there that I loved so I gonna paint one of my rooms the same color.
I just decided that I need to read more. Ever since school I haven't really gotten into it to much. Heidi has inspired me because she is always talking about her books. I have already ready Harry Potter so I gotta wait for the new one. I like mysterys and stuff like that so my dad gave me some suggestions.
Other than work I pretty much don't do anything else to exciting. I really like to go on walks with Jack and enjoy the spring weather. We are going on a cruise to the caribbean in weeks so after that I will have something to wrtie about and pictures to post.
I almost forgot, we are really into tv shows. I am starting agian to watch american Idol (I know I am a nerd). I love Grey's Anatomy, desperate houswives, brothers and sisters, prison break, 24, ER, THe Office, and the amazing race. I look foreward to these shows every week. Its funny how you can get so involved in tv.
Ok, thats all for the update. Heidi, I hope you enjoy it and are not to bored.

For Christmas we went to Southern CAli to see Greg's family. On Christmas eve we all had to dress up in christmas attire. Greg is wearing a womens turtle neck, it was pretty funny. Everybody looked good. Jack even joined in. We had a good weekend and a good Christmas. I missed the snow though. Christmas is kinda weird when its 78 degrees outisde. We gave Jack a giant bone for Christmas, it was pretty funny.

Snow in Vegas!!

Yes its true, it snowed in Vegas about 2 weeks ago. I loved it!! It melted by the end of the day but thats ok. I was so shocked I yelled and freaked Greg out. Jack was scared of the snow untill he discovered he could eat it. It was pretty cool!!

Friday, December 01, 2006

Here is Jack by the Christmas tree. He hasn't tried to eat anyhting off of it yet but we will see. He is very curious. Tomorrow is his 1 year birthday!! We got him a doggie cake shaped like a bone!! ha ha That just shows how nerdy we are. What can I say, he is part of the family.

I love Christmas!!! I am so excited that the holiday season has begun. I have been going crazy with christmas decorations. I think I take after my mother (she is way better at it though). I had to go help her get ready for her party. We decorated her whole house and if any of you remember our house in Salt Lake you know how elaborate my mom decorates. It was way fun though. For some reason this year I have been on a silver and red kick. I also got a new piece to my nativity scene. And I love christmas music too!! The new Sarah Macglachan (?) christmas cd is so good. Anyway, enough blabbering about how psycho I am about Christmas. HOpefully this holiday season is a good one and we can all remember the true meaning, the birth of the saviour.

Survivor

Does Raro=Terrible, Inept, Bad? They are terrible as a team and looks like there is no end in sight. Lost 4 straight since that mutiny left them with 2x the people. Best part was seeing Candice sent to Exile Island and her crying "It's hard to have people you like wanting to see you suffer.'' Well, maybe you should've stuck with your friends a little longer! The Immunity challenge was a nice lesson in how to lose as anything that has to do with swimming, running or breathing causes Raro a lot of trouble. A twist was added as a message a bottle was to be read by the losing tribe after Tribal Council. I was waiting for Jeff to throw it to Raro before the challenge just out of habit. Raro made it close but lost again and had to decide who to vote out. Jenny said that they were going to vote based on performance. I immediately thought that would be tough as they all SUCK! The rumblings were that Rebecca (who's last name happens to be Borman, go figure) was going home. During council, Jeff said he had heard that Jonathan was quite the fisherman. Jonathan had a stupid grin on his face and said "yeah, in the last 2 days I've caught about 22-25 fish." Jeff had a suprised look and Jonathan added "And I bench 175 lbs." No, he didn't say that, but you could tell he wanted too. But our fears became reality as Rebecca was voted off. But what of the message in the bottle? In a fantastic twist, they then had to vote of another member. Jenny was deemed expendable and kicked off, but not before she gave her old tribemates a 1 finger wave goodbye. This was a good episode if for only to make me dislike Raro even more. Nate better be very scared for next council. Raro cracks me up because they are lazy and hate people who lead. Good luck in your life of smoking dope and living with your parents.

"The Office" was outstanding once again. I loved Andy and Dwight. It should add a good dynamic to the Scranton Crew. To go over the "SUPERSIZED" episode would take too long. Your thoughts?

Prison Break

Did T-Bag really do that to his hand?!? Is it me or does Michael have a plan for everything? I liked seeing Sucre save the day. What about Marie Cruz? I had this question when T-Bag killed the Vet that put his hand back, how is T-Bag dominating these guys...WITH 1 HAND?!? That Asian guy reminds of the kid at school who would punch you and run to a teacher as you are chasing him. I'll be interested how the next 2 episodes play out. I hope they don't pull a "Lost" and take a long break. I assume they'll take all of December off...hopefully.

"Amazing Race" time

It's funny watching the credits for the "Amazing Race" and see people and say "Oh yeah, I forgot they were on the show". The 2 teams for me are the Muslim team that was eliminated after about 5 mins and the married Indian couple who was eliminated about 10 minutes later. Anyway, thank goodness the Cho's are starting to not wait for 'Bama who is turning into one of my least favorite teams. And judging by the previews next week, it will only grow. Do Rob and Kim have a "Babe" quota as to how many times they need to say it in one episode? Do they get some prize? They even call each other that when they are yelling at each other, "YOU'RE WRONG...BABE!!" Rob does have a flair for the dramatic as everytime they miss a taxi, bus, train or plane he exclaims 'That's it, we're done" or some other variation. The show is getting interesting and I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for Rob to blow a gasket and either throw Kim out of a moving car or tackle a team that is ahead of them on the run to a Pit Stop. I'm giving 10 to 1 odds that he'll do one or the other.

AS for my friend Doug, he asked to talk about his show "The Duel" on MTV. Eventhough he never mentions me in his blog...I'm not bitter. There are a few things that I never won't to hear in life:
1. "You're under arrest"
2. "President John Kerry"
3. "You're going against Derek in ..."
I think you should be able to check him for weapons if you're playing him in Monopoly, more or less a competition with a huge monetary compensation. I'm wating for him to pull a knife out and shank somebody soon. When you are picked for this show do they send you a letter that reads the following:
You've been picked to be on "The Duel"! Please meet us at Abercrombie & Fitch to get what you'll be wearing while you're on the show. The accompanying Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue will show you how to wear your clothes while on camera.
This episode was the usual "You don't want to mess with me in the duel, blah, blah, blah" I would have to say that Diem is a favorite to go far as she is a cancer survivor and it seems like nobody wants to challenge her. Is Beth over 40? Best part of the episode was watching people fall in the water. And finally, I'm sure TJ Lavin is a nice guy in real life, but I think a glass of waer could do the same job.
